JUNIPER NETWORKS ROUTERS Juniper Networks started producing high performance routers for the telecommunications industry and now have a range of products for enterprise. Junipers Networks E-series routers are internet edge routers. The E series was developed by Unisphere, which Juniper Networks acquired in 2002. All E series routers run the JUNOS operating system. E-series portfolio of IP edge and internet services routing platforms is a critical element in the control, delivery and accounting of services. The E-series includes six different models that are designed to efficiently address the widest variety of service provider requirements. The specific models include the high-capacity E320 BSR and E120 BSR platforms; the mid-range ERX-1440 and ERX-1410 platforms; and the compact ERX-710, ERX-705 and ERX-310. All E-series platforms utilise a single version of the proven JUNOSe operating system, which ensures both feature and operational consistency. Powered by JUNOS, the E-series portfolio helps service providers migrate from basic "best effort" IP services to exciting new, high value multiplay services that bundle a broad set of IP voice, video and data applications. JUNOS, with its carrier-grade architecture, underpins the reliable and efficient delivery of advanced services to both business and residential broadband customers. Deployed in hundreds of production networks across the world, the E-Series portfolio is relied on by service providers for its predictable high functioning and service flexibility. These routers cost-effectively address subscriber management, edge routing and service aggregation requirements at carrier scale.
Deployed mainly at the service-provider edge and in high-end, high-performance enterprise applications, the IP/MPLS M-series multi-service edge routing family is capable of supporting current and emerging Layer 2 and Layer 3 services. From a Layer 2 viewpoint, the J-FASE (Juniper Frame and ATM Service Emulation) toolkit, combined with M-series multi-service edge routing performance, enable precise emulation of ATM and Frame Relay services over MPLS. The same multi-service edge routing platform supports rich Ethernet services, enabling providers to capture revenue from this emerging service. Layer 2.5 Interworking VPNs are available to effortlessly migrate customers from ATM/FR to Ethernet services as demand dictates.
Juniper Networks T-series core routers, including the T1600–a 1.6 Tbps system with 100 Gbps per slot–delivers performance without compromise. The T-Series core routers offer stylish processing capabilities on a true multi-service platform. Providers can reduce operational and capital expenses while easily customising the solution set and user experience. The data plane in T-series core routers is based on programmable ASICs that give high security and granular traffic control while managing potentially hundreds of thousands of filtering operations at the highest line rates. On the control plane is the JUNOS software system, which operates from edge to core across all Juniper Networks routing platforms, in addition to being the industry's most established and trusted network operating system. > Juniper Networks Routers
